Why book this tour: The only stargazing tour on the Island, this is a unique opportunity to observe the wonders of the universe in one clear and dark night sky. Additionally, the programme is made every month and it is designed to present an outstanding experience, far from what is possible to get from sky watching apps commonly used on smartphones and tablets.

Areas and Localities: The tour takes place on the central areas of the Island, either on the eastern mountainous massif or central mountainous chain, far from urban light pollution. Several localities are possible depending on the weather conditions, but observation will be made at one spot exclusively.

Target Objects: Depending on their orbit, hence time of the year, different objects will be observed. Inner Planets Mercury and Venus, outer planets Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Dwarf planet Ceres, Asteroid Vesta, Earth’s Moon, outer planets’ Moons Io, Ganymede, Callisto, Europa, Titan, Tethys, Dione and Rhea. Open and globular star clusters, Nebulas of .., double star systems Albireo, Mizar and Alcor

Observation Spots: The observation of the aforementioned species takes place along the walk

Sightseeing: Beautiful views of the southern coast, Ribeira Brava Valley, cultivated terraces on Serra de Água valley, the central mountains, the lush green norther laurel forest valleys and S. Vicente Valley
