The Tristão Vaz Statue is located in Machico in it off the Mother Church. This statue was designed in honor of the discoverer and 1 captain donee of Machico for their important contribution to the Madeira Islands. This statue was sculpted in bronze by Teixeira Anjos and inaugurated in 1972.
